Steps

  1. Open a page's Search and sharing section. Set its search title and description. Blank fields use the page title and site description shown by the editor's fallback preview.
  2. Choose a sharing image for links sent in messages or social posts. A wide image around 1200 by 630 pixels works well. This is separate from a page's content pictures.
  3. Leave Canonical address blank for an ordinary page. Set it only when this page duplicates another address that should represent the same content. Use Hide this page from search engines only when you want crawlers not to list it.
  4. For a Club website, open Site content and choose Settings for site-wide defaults and search-engine verification values. For a general league website, open its Search settings. A page's own filled fields override defaults. Website editors can change SEO; domain and template controls require website administration.
  5. Open each news article to configure its own search title, description and sharing artwork. Check the selected language alongside the article's headline and body.
  6. For a Club website, use the SEO keywords content collection to plan useful topics and their target pages. It is a planning list; it does not automatically add ranking keywords to every page.
  7. Review the previews, save and publish when ready. Check the public page. Search engines choose when to crawl and update their results.

Search and sharing on one page is not the only SEO location. Page overrides, site defaults and article metadata have separate purposes. Technical sitemap, robots and structured-data behavior is generated by the website renderer.
