Each round is 3 games and opens a fresh match day, the way the generator lays the season out: when a day cannot hold the whole round, the rest moves to the next match day. 3 pitches with one kick-off time finish a round in a day, so the season is 7 match days; one pitch and one kick-off time take 21.

Rounds, byes and match days for 7 teams

Rounds become match days. Each round opens on a fresh date; when a round has more games than the kick-off slots and pitches on one day can hold, the rest spill onto the next selected weekday, and the next round always starts after the previous one finishes. The sheet you download lists round, date, time, venue, home and away, which is the shape most league sites and spreadsheets expect.

7 teams is the classic league size: 21 games in a single round robin, 42 home and away. Most amateur seasons at this size play twice; a Sunday league with 7 teams and one pitch needs 42 match days for the double.

How many games are in a 7-team round robin?

21 in a single round robin: 7 teams times 6 opponents, divided by two because each game counts for both teams. Home and away doubles it to 42.

How many weeks does a 7-team league take?

One round per week, one round robin: 7 weeks. Home and away: 14 weeks. If your pitches cannot hold a full round in one day (3 games), a round spills onto the next match day and the season stretches by the same amount; the generator shows the exact dates.

How many pitches do I need for 7 teams on one match day?

3 games are played per round. With one kick-off slot that means 3 pitches to finish a round in a day; with two slots, 2; with three, 1. Fewer pitches simply means the round takes more days.

Why does a 7-team schedule have a bye every round?

7 is odd, so the teams cannot all be paired at once: 3 games use 6 teams and one rests. The generator adds a phantom seat and rotates it with the rest, so every team sits out exactly once per round robin and the rest days are spread evenly.

How long is one match day of a 7-team league?

A full round is 3 games. On one pitch that is 3 kick-offs in a row, 3 h 20 min with 60-minute games and 10-minute changeovers; on two pitches 2 kick-offs, 2 h 10 min; on 3 pitches a single kick-off. If a day cannot hold the round, the generator moves the rest to the next match day: with one pitch and one kick-off time the single round robin takes 21 match days.
