THE RACING REPORT / HISTORICAL CASES

Real races.
Every result accounted for.

From a clean finish to a changed winner: four historical weekends that put race management, points and published standings into practice.

Historical reproduction · test competitions

These EasyChamp examples reproduce public sporting results for testing and demonstration. They are unaffiliated with Formula 1, the FIA, drivers or teams. They are separate examples, not a complete championship season.

How these test competitions were populated

These examples import source-authoritative final places and explicit points. They verify saved results, publication and standings aggregation, rather than automatic reclassification from raw timing. The workflows below describe the separate tools available for managing your own races.

THE TEST COLLECTION

Four weekends. Different decisions.

Each case links to its EasyChamp standings and organizer workspace. The classifications below are the historical reference for checking those records. All four competitions were created and their published driver and constructor standings read back on 9 October 2026.

CASE 01 / 6 April 2025

Japan 2025

Suzuka International Racing Course

GRAND PRIX

A clean race, down to the last lap

20 finishers, one lapped car and no fastest-lap bonus. The baseline for race ordering and constructor totals.

Organizer access requires a signed-in account with permission.

WHAT TO CHECK

  • Verstappen wins with 25 points; Norris takes 18 and Piastri 15. McLaren totals 33.
  • Stroll completes 52 of 53 laps. A shorter elapsed time does not move a lapped driver ahead of a full-distance finisher.
  • Antonelli sets the fastest lap, but the 2025 results award no fastest-lap bonus.

SPRINT + RACE

One weekend. Two separate results.

A sprint and Grand Prix with three race disqualifications. Keep each event’s result and points independent.

Organizer access requires a signed-in account with permission.

WHAT TO CHECK

  • Hamilton wins the sprint for 8 points. His Grand Prix disqualification removes his race score, while his sprint score remains 8.
  • Leclerc retains 4 sprint points; Gasly scores 0 across the weekend. All three receive 0 Grand Prix points after disqualification.
  • Piastri totals 32, Russell 20 and Norris 19. McLaren totals 51; Ferrari keeps its 12 sprint points.

  • Sainz retires after 45 laps; Hulkenberg is disqualified. Both score 0, with different result statuses.

CASE 04 / 28 July 2024

Belgium 2024

Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps

GRAND PRIX

A changed winner. A historical scoring rule.

Russell’s disqualification promotes Hamilton. Reproduce the 2024 fastest-lap point explicitly, using historical custom points.

Organizer access requires a signed-in account with permission.

WHAT TO CHECK

  • Hamilton is the final winner with 25 points. Russell is disqualified and scores 0; Mercedes totals 25.
  • Perez finishes seventh: 6 position points plus the historical fastest-lap point equals 7. The race distributes 102 points.
  • Piastri’s gap to final winner Hamilton is 0.647 seconds, derived from FIA elapsed times. The original F1 display gap used Russell as its reference.

HOW EASYCHAMP MANAGES RACING

One competition, many events.

A league contains competitions. A leaderboard stage holds the drivers and constructor entries. Each race or sprint has its own rules and published result; standings combine the points.

01 / SET UP

Drivers belong to teams.

Create constructor entries, then individual driver entries linked to their constructor. Keep the roster specific to the event: driver changes and historical team names matter.

02 / CLASSIFY

Laps first. Then adjusted time.

Capture completed laps, elapsed milliseconds and result status. Time penalties need a time-based ordering rule. A final result imported with penalties already included must not receive the same penalty again.

03 / SCORE

Each event owns its points.

Full-distance races use 25–18–15–12–10–8–6–4–2–1; sprints use 8–7–6–5–4–3–2–1. China demonstrates why a race disqualification must not erase a separate sprint result.

04 / REVIEW

Preview, save, publish.

Review the classification and points before publishing. Recheck driver and team standings after a correction. A public stage and published parent competition are required for anonymous spectators.

Belgium 2024 needs historical custom points.

The current Formula preset does not automatically recreate the 2024 fastest-lap bonus. This case uses an explicit historical score: Perez’s 6 position points plus 1 bonus. A saved total of 7 proves the reproduction; it does not prove an automatic 2024 rule engine.

EVIDENCE & BOUNDARIES

Know what the records prove.

Included in the reference data

100 driver rows across five sessions; 20 entrants per session; final positions, car numbers, event-specific constructors, status, laps, official points, elapsed times where supplied, final grids and pit-lane starts, qualifying segments, fastest laps, pit-lane summaries and source URLs. Constructor totals are sums of the recorded driver points.

Download the complete JSON reference

Limits of this reproduction

The report does not claim full FIA compliance, live timing, telemetry, full lap-by-lap reconstruction, tyre strategy simulation or automatic interpretation of steward decisions. Qualifying and pit-lane data are supporting reference material, not proof of native telemetry features.

Disqualified drivers keep unknown final laps and times where the final source omits them. Pit-lane duration is not stationary tyre-change time. Historical totals are not full-season standings.

Two different checks

The tables on this page document the expected historical outcome. Use each linked standings page to inspect the saved EasyChamp record. A reference table alone is not evidence of a live system calculation.

FROM DEMO TO YOUR EVENT

Make it yours.

The exact path in EasyChamp Console. You need an organizer account and a league you manage.

  1. Create the competition

In Console, create or select a league you manage. Choose Other when creating a racing league. Open Competitions → New competition, choose that league, then Continue. Enter a descriptive name and start date.

  2. Choose the scoring

Open the competition’s Leaderboard tab. Under Create stage, select the scoring preset Formula 1 2026 scoring and classification, or use Club points race for custom scoring. Choose Public visibility for a public example.

  3. Add teams, then drivers

Add constructor entries with Competing as → Team. Then add drivers with Competing as → Individual, selecting their Team classification. Only the driver entries compete in the race event.

  4. Set up the event

Create an event with a name, type Race, and round number. Select the drivers and deselect constructor entries. Use Race configuration → Override stage race rules to choose Race, Sprint, Qualifying, or Time trial. Time penalties require time-based ordering, such as Laps, then adjusted elapsed time.

  5. Review the classification

Enter statuses and laps, crossing order or elapsed milliseconds. Formula race/sprint scoring also needs Scheduled laps, Leader laps at the finish and Consecutive green laps. Choose Preview classification and points → Save draft → Publish results.

  6. Publish and share

Publish the parent competition as well as its results. A Public stage can then appear on the public page. Switch Classification → Teams for constructors. Download the official event or standings CSV when you need the saved figures.
